330 days Black Markus Golden Jersey , that is all it has been since Mike McCoy was let go after the Denver Broncos lost their sixth consecutive game as the offensive coordinator. After starting 3-1, the Broncos stumbled to a 3-7 record, averaging 14.2 points per game in the six game losing streakm which allowed new Broncos Head Coach Vance Joseph to pull the trigger on McCoy’s firing.330 days later, the Arizona Cardinals are averaging 13.7 points per game on the season, 31st in the NFL, they are 30th or worst in every major statistical category in the NFL, passing yards (31), passing touchdowns (30), passing yards per attempt (31), rushing yards (32), yards per attempt rushing (32), first downs (32), and total offensive yards (31).McCoy is producing one of the worst offensive seasons in NFL history and now, it seems there is actual pressure on McCoy to produce. You see, Steve Wilks is having a similar first season to what Vance Joseph experienced in his first season with the Broncos.A seemingly good GM, saddling a young, defensive minded head coach with an established NFL play caller and asking them to figure it out.Joseph cut McCoy, but it didn’t change the trajectory of Joseph’s first head coaching gig in the NFL.Now, he sits on the hotseat and a loss to the lowly Cardinals on Thursday Night may end Joseph’s career with the Broncos.Which begs the question, who is more likely to be coaching their last NFL game with their current team?Mike McCoy or Vance Joseph? The 2-6 Cardinals are in Kansas City this weekend to take on the 8-1 Chiefs. Playing in Arrowhead Stadium is never easy, and with the Chiefs led by second-year QB Patrick Mahomes II Markus Golden Jersey 2019 , this team is an offensive juggernaut and just might be the best team in the league.Let’s be clear about one thing: The Cardinals are going to lose this game. Probably by multiple touchdowns. But that doesn’t mean your fantasy team can’t win. While the Chiefs have one of the scariest offenses the NFL has seen in years, their defense is鈥?generous at best. They give up the second-most yards in the league and over 25 points per game. There are fantasy points to be had here, even for a pitiful offense like the Cardinals. So let’s go through the Redbirds’ roster and see who deserves a spot in your lineup. Just because the Cardinals will be losing, doesn’t mean you have to lose your fantasy matchup too!Note: All fantasy stats per ESPN standard scoring.QB Josh RosenThe Chiefs’ defense is ranked #27 against opposing QBs. That makes sense—since they’re usually up by multiple scores, opposing teams have to throw a lot against them. So should you use Rosen this week if you have Kirk Cousins or Deshaun Watson on bye? Not necessarily. In a standard 10-team league, there are probably better options on the waiver wire—guys like Andy Dalton, Baker Mayfield, and Alex Smith. But if you’re in a deeper league (or a 2QB league—which are super fun if you’ve never played in one), Rosen should be serviceable. Plus it makes it easier to root for the Redbirds when they’re down big.Projected Stat Line: 260 passing yards, 15 rushing yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 15 fantasy pointsRB David JohnsonThe Chiefs are even worse against RBs than QBs, ranked #31 in the league against opposing ball carriers. So Byron Leftwich should be licking his chops thinking of how he can use DJ. Even if the team falls behind by several scores, Leftwich should be able to use DJ in the passing game (something Mike McCoy never figured out—which got him fired). Barring injury, there’s almost no way DJ doesn’t find the end zone this week. There aren’t many safer starts this week.Projected Stat Line: 65 rushing yards, 55 receiving yards, 1 TD, 17 fantasy pointsWR Larry FitzgeraldWhile the Chiefs defense is very exploitable for fantasy purposes, they’re actually somewhat stingy against WRs, ranked #12 in the league. It’s a lot easier to keep receivers in front of you when you know the opposing offense is going to be passing. So while Larry Fitzgerald owners should expect plenty of volume this week Black Josh Rosen Jersey , they shouldn’t necessarily be expecting a huge day like he had against the 49ers. Still, Fitz should be a solid WR2/3 play with a relatively high floor. PPR owners especially should plug him into their lineups.Projected Stat Line: 7 receptions, 75 yards, 0 TDs, 7 fantasy pointsWR Christian KirkKirk had obvious chemistry with Rosen in the preseason, and that has carried over to the regular season as well. In their last 4 games together, Kirk has averaged nearly 9 fantasy points per game. I expect that to continue against the Chiefs on Sunday. Owners needing a high-ceiling player should look to Kirk, who has the most big-play potential of the Cardinals’ receivers. I even like him a bit better than Fitz this week in standard leagues.Projected Stat Line: 6 rec, 85 yards, 1 TD, 14 fantasy pointsTE Ricky Seals-JonesYou’d have to be in a pretty deep league to even consider playing Seals-Jones this week. But if you are in such a league, the Chiefs are #26 in the league against opposing TEs, so I suppose you could do worse. He should be good for 30-40 yards if that kind of floor is appealing, and he has a decent shot at a TD during garbage time. He’s probably similar to the rest of the guys on the waiver wire in deep leagues (Antonio Gates, Chris Herndon, Nick Vannett, et al.), so might as well go with the Redbird if you’re in a bind.Projected Stat Line: 3 receptions, 35 yards, 3 fantasy pointsK Phil DawsonI play in a league with several Cardinals fans that starts two kickers (don’t ask), and Dawson has been on the waiver wire all season. That’s what happens when you’ve only made 4 FGs on the year. If and when the Cardinals fall behind big Josh Rosen Jersey 2019 , they’ll likely stop kicking FGs. There’s no reason you should play Dawson this week. (Unless you’re already out of the playoff chase and are starting as many Cardinals as you can. I have a buddy who usually does that around this time. I’m sure some of you do, too.)Projected Stat Line: 1 FG, 2 XPs, 6 fantasy pointsCardinals DEFI’m actually surprised that the Cardinals DEF is projected for 4 fantasy points in standard ESPN leagues. I thought it might actually be negative—especially since opposing defenses have only scored positive points against the Chiefs once this season. The Cardinals probably won’t be the second. Stay far away unless you’re masochistic or are looking for a challenge.Projected Stat Line: 35+ points allowed, 400+ yards allowed, 1 sack, 1 INT, -3 fantasy pointsFinal ThoughtsIf you’re asking about Chad Williams, J.J. Nelson, Jermaine Gresham, Chase Edmonds, etc., you’re either in a 20-team league or shouldn’t be playing fantasy football and I can’t help you. (That said, for the record, I think someone besides DJ, Fitz, Kirk and RSJ will score a TD.) But most of your usual Cardinals will be usable against the Chiefs. We’ll take what small victories we can get.So where are the fantasy players at? Do you have any Redbirds in your lineups? Let’s talk fake football in the comments.

The NBA’s revamped draft lottery system goes into effect this year Youth Matt Ryan Jersey , flattening the odds at the top of the draft order and effectively lessening the incentive to be the very worst team in the league. Here’s how the new lottery system compares to the old one:Lottery odds: new vs. oldTeam record (worst to best)Old system chance at No. 1New system chance at No. 1Team record (worst to best)Old system chance at No. 1New system chance at No. 1Under the new system, the team that finishes with the worst record still has a 48.9 percent chance to fall to the fifth pick, which would have been impossible under old system (when it had a 35.7 percent chance to fall to fourth in a worst case scenario.) This is the NBA’s attempt to stop shameless tanking, a refusal to reward teams who are built to lose on purpose and an olive branch to teams who win around 30 games and will now see greater odds at landing the No. 1 pick.As Kevin Pelton wrote at ESPN: Yet the NBA inadvertently picked a fascinating year to change the math to prevent tanking. While the odds may not be as great as before, it still benefits bad teams to maximize their odds at getting a top pick this season for two big reasons. This is an ultra top-heavy draftThe last two drafts were strong throughout the lottery. The Bulls found Lauri Markkanen at No. 7, and the Jazz found Donovan Mitchell at No. 13 in 2017. June’s draft had Wendell Carter Jr. lasting until No. 7, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander going No. 11 and Miles Bridges going No. 12. The 2019 NBA Draft appears unlikely to be that deep. While it’s exceedingly early to make this claim with most college basketball teams having only played one or two games so far, most people paying attention see a top-heavy class that could only have four blue chip prospects. But really, one player appears to stand above the rest.Right now, Zion Williamson is in a tier by himself. Williamson didn’t enter the season as the consensus No. 1 pick, but he should be by June. He has already proven himself to be so much more than a dunker, possessing guard skills with an advanced feel for the game within an impossibly athletic 280-pound frame:If Williamson is the front-runner to go No. 1 right now, his Duke teammates R.J. Barrett and Cameron Reddish are No. 2 and No. 3. Barrett was widely projected as the top pick heading into the season as a 6’7 wing Black Jake Matthews Jersey , and has lived up the hype, establishing himself as an elite slasher with crafty finishing ability and an improving jumper. Reddish is also intriguing as a 6’9 wing with great length who can handle the ball and shoot it. If there’s a player who can break up Duke’s trio going 1-2-3, it’s North Carolina’s Nassir Little. Little is a strong and long freshman wing who plays with a non-stop motor and has been skyrocketing up his class rankings since the end of his high school career. He still has a ways to go skill-wise, but has a great frame, plus athleticism and a reputation for playing hard every time he takes the court.Things are up in the air after that. NBA fans will want to keep an eye on French forward Sekou Doumbouya, Indiana guard Romeo Langford, Kansas guard Quentin Grimes, Oregon center Bol Bol, Vanderbilt point guard Darius Garland, Kentucky wing Keldon Johnson, and USC wing Kevin Porter Jr. Any of those players could break out, but it feels unlikely one of them will break into the top four.In a top-heavy draft, there’s still a major incentive to lock down the best odds to get Williamson Jake Matthews Jersey 2019 , one of his Duke teammates, or Little. There’s also another incentive few people are talking about right now ...The 2020 draft looks particularly weakYou start to get a sense of the strength of a draft class well before the players in it graduate high school. For as long as the age limit is in existence, every draft will largely be defined by the quality of the incoming freshmen class. This is an early projection, and ultimately just one man’s opinion, but the 2020 draft currently doesn’t appear to have the type of star power we’ve seen the last few years. When I wrote about the top nine NBA prospects playing high school basketball right now, there was only one current senior.Don’t get me wrong: this group has some real talent. Players will emerge on the All-Star game circuit — Little wasn’t considered a future top-five draft pick at this point a year ago — and during their college season. Maybe Cole Anthony, ESPN’s No. 2 prospect, will prove he’s a long-term stud. He’s going to be a killer college player and could have upside as a Damian Lillard style point guard. Maybe James Wiseman, a center out of Memphis, will thrive in college, improve his skill set, and establish himself as the class’ No. 1 player. Jaden McDaniels, Kahlil Whitney Black Andy Levitre Jersey , Scottie Lewis ... there’s plenty of guys who can potentially break out. But for now, there is no one on the level of Deandre Ayton, Ben Simmons, Jayson Tatum, Williamson, or some of the other standout one-and-dones who have entered the league in recent years. Obviously, this draft could be salvaged by international players, with Israel’s Deni Avdija and France’s Killian Hayes standing out early. A returning college player could also break out the way Mitchell once did. There’s a long way to go and it’s true that every draft class has great players hidden within it.But if you’re looking for a franchise cornerstone through the draft, getting a top pick in the 2019 draft seems like the best way to do it. Even at reduced odds, it’s wise to get the math in your favor before it’s too late. FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Atlanta coach Dan Quinn says running back Devonta Freeman won’t make it back for the final two games of the season. The Falcons were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs last week. Even though Atlanta’s chances were less than 1 percent, Quinn didn’t want to rule Freeman out for the rest of the year until he was certain.Quinn said Wednesday that the Falcons “were going to keep all of our options open in the hopes that the season would keep extending so he would have the largest window if he could come back. We know where that window is closing, so he won’t make it in time.”Freeman Andy Levitre Jersey 2019 , signed to the NFL’s richest contract for a running back before the 2017 season, has missed 14 games over the last two years with head, knee and groin injuries. He is still not fully recovered from in-season groin surgery and hasn’t practiced since Week 5.Tevin Coleman, Brian Hill and Jeremy Langford will handle the running duties Sunday when Atlanta (5-9) visits Carolina (6-8). The Falcons, already with the NFL’s second-worst rushing attack, lost Coleman’s primary backup, Ito Smith, to a season-ending knee injury in last week’s win over Arizona.Atlanta ends its regular season at Tampa Bay on Dec. 30.

Three things we learned in the Ravens’ 27-14 victory over the Broncos The Baltimore Ravens are back in the win column as they defeated the Denver Broncos 27-14 in week three. Although it may be too earlier to call any game at this stage a must-win Stitched Mark Andrews Jersey , they picked up a much-needed victory as they prepare for a three-game stretch on the road. After their disastrous performance on Thursday night football against the Bengals ten days earlier, what did we learn from the Ravens in week three?1. The offensive line is still an issue, but give them credit for taking Von Miller out of the gameLeading up to week three, most of the conversations at ‘The Castle’ were centered around Von Miller, Denver’s defensive leader. The Ravens’ offense, particularly their offensive line, knew in order to beat the Broncos, they needed to shut down Miller.“[Von Miller] the straw that stirs the drink, no doubt – one of the very best in the league at what he does. We will have to have him accounted for at all times, on every play. If we don’t do that, he’ll wreck the game. That’s job [No.] 1 on offense – that’s where it starts,” head coach John Harbaugh stated earlier in the week. It would be hard to argue that Marty Mornhinweg and the rest of the offensive staff did not scheme up a successful game plan to neutralize Miller as he finished the game with two total tackles and two penalties. He had a two-game sack streak heading into this matchup, but it was snapped on Sunday. “That was the biggest thing, just not letting him be a factor Baby Mark Andrews Jersey , and we had a plan for that, obviously, but at the end of the day, it’s really just up to those guys up front,” quarterback Joe Flacco said after the game. Mornhinweg’s offensive utilized several different concepts to virtually take Miller out of the game. On several occasions, they moved the pocket, which bought Joe Flacco more time to survey the field. In addition, Baltimore relied on their tight ends for chip blocks, which paid dividends. 2. Don Martindale, not the loss of C.J. Mosley, was the issue in week 2Against the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore’s defense was a nightmare in the first half following C.J. Mosley’s injury. They allowed four consecutive touchdown drives. The defense looked unorganized, and often, confused. Patrick Onwuasor took over the play-calling duties in the first half Best Mark Andrews Jersey , and it was clear that the defense was not prepared for that. There were several busted coverages, poor scheme, and a questionable game plan. After the Bengals’ fourth consecutive touchdown drive, Baltimore’s defense tightened up. They only allowed 134 yards and six points for the rest of the game. It appears that the loss of Mosley was not as significant as many wereforecasting, while the real issue may have been lack of preparation bythe defense, which is entirely on Martindale. With ten days to prepare for the Broncos, and the Ravens likely knew Mosley would be inactive considering he only practiced once all week (limited participant), Martindale’s unit looked more organized. With Eric Weddle relaying the signals, the team was able to return to their dominant week one form. Baltimore held the Broncos scoreless for three quarters, and one of their touchdown drives started inside the Ravens’ six-yard line. They forced one turnover and only recorded three sacks, but the pass-rush was alive and well.Mosley is playing under the final year of his rookie contract, and Baltimore will have a difficult to decision to make in the offseason. However, with the emergence of Kenny Young, would it be wise for the Ravens to give Mosley such a lucrative contract? If the defense continues to perform well without Mosley Adult Mark Andrews Jersey , their decision may not be so difficult.3. Joe Flacco is the biggest factor in whether or not the Ravens make the playoffsThis is not necessarily a new takeaway or one that should be much of a surprise. However, weeks two and three showcased the difference between how the Ravens perform when Flacco is ‘hot’ and when he is ‘cold.’ In week two, the offensive line was far from satisfactory, but Flacco still had plenty of opportunities to lead Baltimore to a come from behind victory. However, his inaccuracy issues reared its ugly head, and the Ravens were defeated. Flacco’s decision-making was head-scratching. Flashing forward to week three, it was seemingly a different quarterback. Despite being pressured on multiple occasions, Flacco was able to guide the offense to 27 points. His stats may not be ‘sexy’ as he only had 277 yards and one touchdown, but it was his sharp decision-making that should have stolen the show. The Ravens now have the weapons around Flacco to have an above-average offense, and it is on him to deliver. Can he force Baltimore to have to make a tough decision this offseason? Four weeks from today, the 2019 NFL Draft will be wrapping up.If it was up to Ravens coach John Harbaugh, none of us would have to wait that long.Via Ben Volin of the , Harbaugh said if he could change anything about the pre-draft process, he would make it significantly shorter.“I think the draft should be earlier Miles Boykin Baltimore Ravens Jersey , sooner,” Harbaugh said. “We don’t need to be so involved where we need three months to watch the players ourselves. Let’s draft these guys, let’s get them to us.“And let’s be honest, they’re all coming. Nobody’s taking their last semester of school. You want to get in the real world here? Let’s understand that that’s how it works. Because they end up graduating a high percentage of the time we get them, anyway, because we make sure they do. Let’s help them, but let’s not have them worried about running 40 times. Let’s get them working on football so they can contribute their first couple of years.”(At least we’re no longer pretending that drafted players from schools on the quarter system are still going to class so they can’t attend OTAs.)Coaches have been complaining about the amount of time they get with players in the offseasons, and if more people saw it Harbaugh’s way, the rookie class would at least be on the same schedule as their veteran teammates. Teams with new head coaches can begin their offseason programs Monday, the rest can start April 15. That means some of the draft picks will be a month behind getting ready for the job, so we can spend another month wondering where they’ll punch the clock.

The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most curious franchises in the NFL. They've been both praised and maligned Sheldrick Redwine Jersey , and are without question the most noteworthy team to never have a Super Bowl title to their credit. Despite this, they've have multiple eras where they have been among the best the league has to offer, and ones in which they're squarely at the bottom of the totem pole. Since the turn of the century, the overall fate of the Eagles has been largely positive with five trips to the NFC Championship along with a Super Bowl-appearance, but there have been several seasons of failure mixed in as well.Naturally, this means that they've seen their players run the gamut, exhibiting the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The best Eagles since the year 2000 have been some of the best players to step on an NFL field in this era , and the worst simply couldn't lace up their cleats with pro-level players. There's a lot to choose from for either side of the aisle, as the Eagles have seen their fair share of both. Let's take a look at some of the elite Eagles players, and the ones that crashed and burned almost immediately.Ranked below are the 8 best and 7 worst Philadelphia Eagles of the 21st Century. The offseason is approaching, and that means that many NFL fans will have to say goodbye to some of their favorite players. While the offseason can be one of the most exciting times of the year, it can also be one of the most disappointing. Even with teams having over $50 million in cap space, that doesn’t save them from cutting players or leaving them to sign with another team in free agency. These decisions aren’t easy, but they have to be made. While fans may not fully understand why teams have to move on from players Trysten Hill Jersey , there’s usually a plan that works out for the better. Or, at least they hope it works out for the better. The Packers and Cowboys were criticized for releasing their No. 1 receiver last season. Jordy Nelson ultimately dealt with injuries and struggled throughout the season, and the Cowboys ended up acquiring Amari Cooper and has been a perfect fit in Dallas. So, there are reasons why the front office does these things.Changes happen, it’s sports. Especially with the current state of the NFL, where teams and players don’t value loyalty as much. In the past, sports players and teams wanted to have a commitment throughout the length of a player’s career. Now , it’s not as common to see that. This offseason, we will see 20 surprising departures whether it be through free agency or trade. Some may be more surprising than others, but you definitely wouldn’t have expected these departures to occur.

A look at what’s happening around the majors today:

Miguel Cabrera’s season is over , leaving Detroit without its biggest star at a time when there wasn’t much else for Tigers fans to latch onto. Cabrera ruptured his left biceps tendon on a swing Tuesday night, ending the two-time MVP’s year just a couple of weeks after he returned from a DL stint due to a right hamstring strain. The 35-year-old Cabrera will have surgery this week. He batted .301 with three homers and 22 RBIs for a team that wasn’t expected to compete in the AL Central.

Mike Trout leads the majors with 23 home runs and he’s gone deep twice each of the last two nights, becoming the first player with consecutive multihomer games at Safeco Field in Seattle. But that hasn’t been enough for the Angels, who lost both times. Trout tries to keep it going at the plate when Los Angeles faces left-hander Marco Gonzales (7-3, 3.28 ERA) and the first-place Mariners again. Gonzales has allowed only three earned runs in his past five starts, a span of 33 1/3 innings. Garrett Richards (4-4 , 3.26) pitches for the Angels. He shut out the Mariners over 6 2/3 innings on May 4 but hasn’t won since.

One night after the Yankees hit Washington star Bryce Harper with a pair of pitches, the teams play again in New York. Could the Nationals look to retaliate? ”No ill feelings at all,” Harper said after his team lost 3-0. The slugger gave Washington a scare when he fell to the ground in pain after getting plunked on the right elbow by a 90 mph pitch from CC Sabathia. Harper remained in the game but then came out after he was hit on the left foot by Dellin Betances’ 89 mph slider in the eighth. The 2015 NL MVP said he had an X-ray on the toe and he’s fine. ”Elbow feels OK, and the big toe just hurts a little bit,” he explained. Harper leads the NL with 19 homers but is batting just .215 since May 1. He had been hit by a pitch only once previously this season and had not been dinged twice in a game since August 2013 at Atlanta.

The Mets try to snap a most puzzling skid when Jacob deGrom pitches against Atlanta. DeGrom has a 1.24 ERA in his past four starts, and yet New York has lost each of those outings. Only the Marlins and Reds have worse records in the NL than the Mets , and general manager Sandy Alderson is shouldering the blame. ”When you’re scoring runs at the anemic rate that we have, something hasn’t worked. So from that standpoint, I take full responsibility for where we are,” he said Tuesday. As the All-Star Game next month and the July 31 trade deadline approach, Alderson acknowledged he would consider retooling if the Mets’ record doesn’t improve.

Gerrit Cole aims to keep up his stellar season when Houston faces Oakland. Cole (7-1, 2.16 ERA) has won five straight decisions and entered Tuesday leading the AL with 124 strikeouts. He has yet to allow more than three earned runs in a start this season. Paul Blackburn (1-0 Ben Banogu Jersey , 1.50) is up for the A’s following a terrific season debut last week against Kansas City.

Kenta Maeda is set to return for the Dodgers against Texas, though most of his usual rotation-mates are still on the disabled list. Maeda has been out with a hip injury since May 29, and he’ll come off the DL a day after rookie right-hander Walker Buehler was added to the list. Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Dennis Santana remain on the DL for the Dodgers.

The NFL draft is the most important part of the offseason for most teams. It took years for everyone to realize this and even longer for rules to truly benefit it Parris Campbell Jersey , but the draft is the quickest way to get talent onto an NFL roster if you know how to draft correctly. The importance has started to change depending on what the rookie scale was but now it is easily the best way to get top-flight talent for a roster for at least four years in the NFL.Most dynasties have been built on that theory, from the Pittsburgh Steelers of the '70s and the San Francisco 49ers of the '80s. But no team created a powerhouse like the Cowboys did in the '90s. After trading Herschel Walker in 1988, the Cowboys were ready to make an incredible roster based on the talent they acquired in the draft directly after that move. They were able to draft a great offensive line, plus Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin in that incredible era. However, like most dynasties Bobby Okereke Jersey , they lost their way and started drafting players who couldn’t perform at that level. Yes, there were solid players and teams since the '90s but not the Hall of Fame talent that was littered on the roster at that time. Now the Cowboys have started to do a better job at building in the draft in recent years but there was a dark age of drafting and the impact can be seen in the results. Here is a list of the Cowboys picks over the last 20 years and how they would have selected with a do-over. The only pick that won't be included will be Leighton Vander Esch, the Cowboys' first round selection this year, as it's simply too soon to tell how he'll pan out.

That game was awful. Let’s just get that out of the way to start with. The Panthers played a better team on a short week and got exposed. Nine straight quarters of dominance by the Panthers came to a screeching halt in Pittsburgh and took a little wind out of their sails. Carolina is still 6-3 and still technically has control over its own destiny. As bad as this loss was, it was still only one loss. That said, this team learned some hard truths yesterday and has a long way to go before they can be considered a contender again. We have ten days before the Panthers take the field again Game Donte Jackson Jersey , this time against the Lions, and we will spend much of it discussing just how bad last night was. Let’s talk about Cam Newton, Christian McCaffrey, and the future of this offense. The rest we can file, for now, under the aged wisdom provided by Ron Rivera during last night’s presser Donte Jackson Womens Jersey ,Cam Newton, under significant pressure all night, threw a pick-six and took five sacks. He still posted a 100.3 passer rating. One of those things is simply not like the other. Cam’s interception was one bad mistake in an otherwise exceptional night. The few plays were the offensive line blocked well enough for Cam to complete his drop backs were positive and often constituted scoring drives. The rest were impossible for anybody and Cam even turned a few of those into first downs.Something has to change on the offensive line. The Panthers went into Pittsburgh facing an absurdly low number of blitzes compared to the rest of the league. I’m honestly baffled that nobody thought to try a more blitz happy approach before given the relative inexperience and lack of successful history that are currently starting at left guard and left tackle. I’m similarly baffled that Norv Turner didn’t make a greater effort to provide more help than a clearly overmatched McCaffrey to pick up the Steelers’ blitzes. Turner must not have watched Super Bowl 50.To his credit, pass protection was the only part of McCaffrey’s game that wasn’t on fire last night. He was effective in the running game and the passing game as a quick outlet and a scoring threat for Newton. The offense, when it worked, went through Cam and McCaffrey and it looked good doing so. Whether it was due to a short week Youth Donte Jackson Jersey , an inability to actually protect against creative pass rush designs, or anything else, the Panthers offensive line has only had one really bad game this season. We need to see them fail like this at least once more before we can say the sky is falling. Maybe Matt Kalil is once again finally healthy and ready to contribute. Maybe Amini Silatolu is actually the answer after all this time. Stranger things have happened.Right now, the Panthers know they have problems. They have the time to figure out how to address those problems. They might even have the personnel. It is too early to count this offense out given the way Cam and McCaffrey are playing. The defense might be another story, but the offense still has the potential to hang with most of the league. They aren’t functioning on the level of the Saints, either Donte Jackson Men Jersey , but there is still a chance the Panthers get there. The offense is going to be the story of the season and the defense is going to be on the field sometimes. It’s almost impossible to beat a good team in the NFL anymore without surrendering 30+ points. The Steelers’ 52 was excessive, to be sure, but that total likely would have been lower if the Panthers had been able to stay on the field and score more often than they did.The Steelers and the Panthers combined last night for one more point (73) than the Patriots and the Eagles did in the Super Bowl to end last season (72). The most important thing in this league is the ability to score points. The Panthers have the skill position players to do that so long as Newton can be protected for even a second. I’m still excited to see what they can do about that.

Having the ability to look at things in a revised manner is always fun.Let’s take Stitched Chad Williams Jersey , for instance the Mayock Mock Drafts we talked about yesterday, where the Cardinals picks versus new Oakland Raiders GM Mike Mayock’s picks were compared.Clearly Mayock picked better, but that was mostly due to the fact that he was able to draft Aaron Barr who was not available to the Cardinals. Now, because looking back is always fun, let’s take a look at the 2018 All Pro team and who the Cardinals took instead. Here are some simple to follow rules:The Cardinals had to have passed on the player in either day one or day two with no trade up options, they flatout passed, like Derwin James this year. You cannot take a player, let’s say Travis Kelce, and make him a first round pick at 7 when he was taken in two rounds later. We’ll say since 2010, so we don’t have to revisit six different staffs to get there.2018 First Team All-Pro TeamTight End - Travis Kelce, 2013 NFL Draft Rd3 Pick 63 - AZ Cardinals pick Rd 2 Pick 45 Youth Chad Williams Jersey , Kevin MinterI feel like 18 picks may be stretching it, but it is within a round. The Cardinals thought they were getting a future quarterback for their defense, I did too. They ended up getting a fringe NFL starter who is now a journeyman.Wide Receiver - Deandre Hopkins, 2013 NFL Draft Rd1 Pick 27 - AZ Cardinals pick Rd1 Pick 7, Jonathan CooperMichael Thomas, 2016 NFL Draft Rd2 Pick 47 - AZ Cardinals pick Rd1 Pick 29, Robert NkemdicheThis is what makes these exercises tough, because clearly the Cardinals needed a guard and a defensive tackle infinitely more than wide receivers. It also goes to show the problem with going for “needs” over talent.Hopkins was probably the best player in the 2013 NFL Draft, but because he was “slow” at the combine, he had some questions to answer In fact, Thomas is probably similar Stitched Pat Tillman Jersey , with his slower time, but they are both multi faceted and uber talented wide receivers.J.J. Watt, 2011 NFL Draft Rd1 Pick 11 - AZ Cardinals pick Rd1 Pick 5, Patrick PetersonObviously they got this one right. While Watt is a complete difference maker as an edge and maybe the best defensive player of his generation, Peterson was maybe the #2 player overall coming out behind Von Miller.Nothing wrong with this pick.Derwin James, 2018 NFL Draft Rd1 Pick 15 - AZ Cardinals pick Rd1 Pick 10, Josh RosenI’ve been told that James was the pick if the Cardinals couldn’t get Josh Allen or Josh Rosen.Take that for what you will. You’ll never blame a team for taking the quarterback, especially when the room was Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon coming into the year.Brief aside and shoutout to former Arizona Cardinals draftee Andre Roberts, who was the All-Pro kick returner this year.Obviously, the only two that really hurt are Kelce and Michael Thomas.I will say this, the draft that hurt the Cardinals more than any other is 2012.The Cardinals took Michael Floyd in 2012 Youth Pat Tillman Jersey , with picks directly before Floyd being Luke Kuechly, Stephon Gilmore and Fletcher Cox.In total 10 players in the first two rounds of 2012 have been All Pros...The Cardinals picked Floyd and traded their second for Kevin Kolb.Of course they did end up with Chandler Jones, so technically they ended up with one of those 10 players. It is just interesting to look back and see how things unfold from draft day to years down the road and how close the Cardinals could have been to some of these players. Well, it is certainly getting weird for the Arizona Cardinals.Happy Tuesday one and all, we are getting ready for the Cardinals first game under Byron Leftwich as offensive coordinator, we have plenty to talk about already and yesterday, Patrick Peterson drops a bomb on us.Yep, the All Pro cornerback and future Hall of Famer wants out.Let’s take a look around the web to get us understanding what is going on with the Arizona Cardinals.Steve Wilks: "We're Not Trading Patrick" PetersonPro Bowl cornerback reportedly has asked to be dealtGetting The Offense Started In The Byron Leftwich EraNotes: Rosen should practice Wednesday; Pleasant should help with no BostonPatrick Peterson, the potential for trades, and a history of QWilks - Trading Peterson 'Out Of The Question'Head coach Steve Wilks responds to the reports of CB Patrick Peterson asking for a trade on Monday.Johnson - 'We're Going To Keep Fighting'RB David Johnson gives his thoughts on the offensive coordinator change and what the offense needs to improve on.Cardinals Chronicles - Christian KirkRookie WR Christian Kirk chronicles his journey to his childhood dream come true.Cards Daily - Big Red RebootPaul Calvisi brings you the latest news and notes after the first practice with Byron Leftwich as the offensive coordinator. Why Josh Rosen will listen to new Cardinals OC Byron Leftwich - Arizona Cardinals Blog- ESPNNew Cardinals offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, a former first-round pick as a quarterback Stitched Adrian Wilson Jersey , has been in a near-identical spot to Josh Rosen.Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson asks for tradeCardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson wants to be traded, but the team doesn't want to accommodate him, sources told ESPN.Report: Cardinals' Patrick Peterson asks for a tradeArizona Cardinals All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson has asked for a trade from the team on Monday. As expected Youth Brett Favre Jersey , the Falcons are going to largely (but not completely) focus on the defense in the 2019 NFL Draft"The Falcons are actually getting close to drafting some players, which is a welcome oasis in an offseason that has been notable for two starting guard signings, the complete teardown of the coordinators, and long stretches of silence. The question, as you’d expect, concerns who exactly those picks will be.We don’t know that just yet, but Dan Quinn was kind enough to recently confirm that the team is going to be looking hard at defense, as essentially all their offseason moves suggested they would. Defensive tackle is a legitimate need, though the Falcons really only need a capable rotational player unless they want to swing for the fences. Defensive end is a legitimate need this year even if Takk McKinley Stitched Matt Bosher Jersey , Vic Beasley, and Steven Means play well, and it’s a potentially massive need in 2020 if Beasley and Means don’t return. And the defensive backfield needs cornerback and safety depth, as Quinn notes, but that would preferably come in the form of long-term reserves who could start in a pinch, given the injury picture there a year ago and a lack of long-term options at cornerback beyond Desmond Trufant, Isaiah Oliver, and Damontae Kazee. None of these identified needs are particularly surprising, but it would be surprising if the team doesn’t use three or four of their first six selections to address them. Notably absent from this list? Right tackle Youth Matt Bosher Jersey , the position that Arthur Blank and others around the Falcons and analyzing the Falcons have identified as a major long-term position of need. I still think right tackle is in play for the Falcons with pick #14, but my genuine hope is that they’re willing to hit the defense early and heavy, even if it means a year or two of Ty Sambrailo starting at the position. Who might they get? The Falcons have been linked to prospects from all three position groups mentioned above that are expected to go in the first round (like Brian Burns, Ed Oliver, and Deandre Baker) and toolsy mid-to-late rounders who fit their draft profiles (like rangy Eastern Michigan pass rusher Maxx Crosby or physical, tall Houston cornerback Isaiah Johnson). The Falcons have been able to nail some of those mid-to-late round defensive picks in recent years, from Grady Jarrett to De’Vondre Campbell to Foye Oluokun, and chances are they’ll need to do so again to improve this roster. Before their Sunday night matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks wore shirts to honor the 12 people killed in the latest mass shooting at Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks Stitched Ricardo Allen Jersey , California. The bar is located just an hour outside of the Staples Center, where the team plays. The Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks wore the same shirts on Saturday night for their game. The shirts had the names of all 12 victims on the back and the word “Enough” printed on the front. This will be the Lakers’ first political statement since LeBron James joined the team in July. James is well known for his activism since he and his Heat teammates wore hoodies after the death of Trayvon Martin, and he called for social change alongside Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony at the ESPYs, among other events.According to Lakers Nation’s Matthew Moreno, Walton said, “It breaks my heart to have to do this again, but our thoughts, our prayers Youth Ricardo Allen Jersey , our love, is with those people suffering from that senseless shooting a couple days ago. It’s got to stop.“But it’s important that we always talk about it instead of just pushing it to the side. We love basketball, we’re here to play basketball, but there’s bigger things going on. Obviously, with the wildfires, too, hope that people’s homes are OK and that they’re going to be safe.”

Let’s take a look at the real OGs!"Let’s hear it for the real OGs! Isn’t there some type of hip hop tune that uses that phrase? From this maybe? But I digress already. Let’s talk about the hog mollies up front. The non-skill players if you will. The good news is the Panthers did not have a lot of turnover at guard 2018. Tyler Larsen filled in at right guard for an injured Trai Turner for three games early in the season. He didn’t exactly light it up. Left guard Greg Van Roten played all sixteen games and led team in number of snaps played Womens Christian McCaffrey Jersey , logging over one thousand plays on the season. The bad news is the group as a whole did not have a great season performance wise. The Panthers offense struggled and I can’t say the guard position is free from criticism. So we need to look at the performance grades but also include other factors. If we are going to evaluate offensive guards we also need to look at penalties, particularly offensive holding. Here is how Pro Football Focus graded the Panthers at the position:Let’s start with the veteran and highest paid player at the position, right guard Trai Turner.Trai TurnerExperience: 5 yearsAge: 25Height: 6-3Weight: 315 lbsCollege: LSU2018 season: 13 starts; two offensive holding penalties, two false startsPro Football FocusBased on PFF grades alone Turner had a down year, in fact his worst year as a pro. Mind you only by a little plus there is the issue of an early injury. That could have been a nagging thing that helped draft him down with the whole offensive line. Yet my main concern with Turner is the trend. He does tend to rebound from a bad season with a better one, but will it match his 2015 season performance? We can only hope. We certainly need better run blocking, something both starting guards struggled with in 2018. His $8.7 million cap hit in 2019 demands it. Another down year and his $12 million cap hit in 2020 will certainly make him a cap casualty. There is no reason he can’t turn it around though.Greg Van RotenExperience: 4 yearsAge: 28Height: 6-3Weight: 305 lbsCollege: Pennsylvania2018: 16 starts; 1 offensive holding penalty, 1 false startThe best thing you can say about Van Roten’s 2018 season is he was durable and he rarely got called for a penalty. He never missed a game and logged a team leading 1,059 snaps. Beyond that though Van Roten’s season was a big ‘meh!’. His 59.8 point PFF rating is barely palatable. He didn’t get a lot of penalties but maybe he should have tried to get more? I can’t believe I just typed that but my point is to push the envelope more, finish plays , pan cake someone. We need better run blocking from the position in the future. Van Roten is under contract for 2019 for $830k and is an unrestricted free agent after this coming season. The left guard spot is his to lose in 2019 and I would bet a lot the Panthers give him some serious competition, if not via free agency then the draft.Tyler LarsenExperience: 3 yearsAge: 27Height: 6-4Weight: 325 lbsCollege: Utah StateAs I stated earlier, Larsen didn’t leave much of an impression in the three games he started at right guard. Well maybe it left an impression, albeit a bad one on quarterback Cam Newton. So I expect to see Larsen, who is better suited at center, to be backing up our future center in 2019. The Panthers have a number of additional guards on the roster but none of them saw the field other than on special teams. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Panthers coach Ron Rivera hasn’t ruled out shutting down quarterback Cam Newton for the season because of a sore right throwing shoulder.Rivera said Tuesday he plans to meet with Newton later in the week and figure out where he is “in terms of his physical state and mental state” before deciding if he will start Sunday against Atlanta.“It’s a tough situation right now,” Rivera added. “Until I get a chance to visit with him I’m not going to speculate.”“I’m not looking forward to that conversation,” Newton said after Carolina’s 12-9 loss to the Saints on Monday night. The eighth-year quarterback was noticeably frustrated talking about his lingering shoulder injury. The chiseled 6-foot-5, 245-pounder was a mere shell of his former self Womens DJ Moore Jersey , struggling to throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field.Newton’s frustration stems from not knowing exactly what the issue is with his shoulder.“I think the thing, when you talk to different people who can help you with it, is that there’s not any magical surgery or whatever. It’s just time,” Newton said. “I’ve tried and done everything.”He’s been taking anti-inflammatories, getting massages and trying acupuncture. He said there hasn’t been a night that’s gone by without having some type of work done on his shoulder.Newton has been on a “pitch count” in practice for the better part of the season, often not throwing at all on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the week so he can rest.Nothing seems to work.He said the shoulder is not getting worse, but it’s not getting better either. However, the missed time in practice is affecting his timing with his receivers and he doesn’t have the same zip on the ball as he did when he led the Panthers to the Super Bowl in the 2015 season, throwing for 35 touchdowns.“I’ve been eager to go to (head trainer Ryan Vermillion’s) office, weeks and weeks and weeks and kind of find out what it is. ‘Did you find something? What am I supposed to do? What do we have to do?'” Newton said. “… It is what it was Donte Jackson Jersey White , just a lot of soreness and tension in the joints.”Without a diagnosis that demands he sits out, Newton has continued to play through the pain — and the frustration. He doesn’t even know if he will need another surgery after the season.Rivera doesn’t seem to know exactly what’s wrong with Newton either, referring all injury-related questions to the team’s medical staff. The Associated Press requested to talk to Vermillion through the team’s PR department, but he was not made available for comment. The Panthers (6-8) still have a very slim chance of making the playoffs — less than one percent, according to the website —but have lost six straight and morale is low.But that still could be enough to convince Rivera to stick with Newton another week.“Believe it or not, there’s a slim glimmer, so we’ll see,” Rivera said of the decision to start Newton on Sunday.Center Ryan Kalil said “nobody is more frustrated than Cam.”“I’ve played a long time with the guy and he takes it personal. It’s been a frustrating season, needless to say,” Kalil said.He called Newton one of the toughest players he’s ever played with.“I’ve seen the guy take hits and get his body up , game after game, season after season,” Kalil said. “Hits that I have seen him take other guys wouldn’t get up from. He fights through a lot of stuff.”Newton’s stats were miserable against the Saints — 16 of 29 for 131 yards for a season-low 52.5 passer rating, by far the worst of the season. He was sacked four times. If Rivera decides to sit Newton, Taylor Heinicke would get his first start. When asked what good it does to play an injured Newton with little to gain, Rivera said Tuesday, “in all intents and purposes, we play to win.”

It will ultimately go down as a huge failure, not only for its collapse before the end of their inaugural season but for their complete unpreparedness for the league’s suspension. But not all is lost. For eight weeks, AAF players got a chance to showcase their skills for NFL scouts that were undoubtedly monitoring their play, looking for diamonds in the rough and potential depth pieces for the 2019 season. This offseason, Detroit Lions openly admitted they’ll be scouting the league. And while the Lions will build primarily through the draft at this point in the offseason, there are AAF players they should look into bringing in for camp. With the AAF suspended, player contracts are null and these athletes could be signed to any team at any time. Here are five AAF players the Lions should consider signing.TE Bug Howard A former North Carolina tight end, so what could really go wrong? Howard went undrafted in 2017, despite following in Eric Ebron’s footsteps in an extremely productive manner. His senior year at North Carolina saw 53 catches for 827 yards and eight touchdowns. In the NFL, Howard failed to stick on a roster, jumping from the Colts to the Browns to the Panthers. He never saw a regular season snap, but flashed a little in the preseason. In the AAF Austin Bryant Detroit Lions Jersey , Howard was third among all tight ends with 220 receiving yards. Playing mostly as an in-line tight end, Howard could be a short-yardage option for the Lions offense. He’s built to be a blocker too—at 6-foot-5, 228 pounds—but his form could use some refinement.LB Shaheed Salmon The Lions have a pretty big need for off-ball linebacker depth, and while Salmon probably wouldn’t push for playing time right away, he could certainly make a play for a spot on the roster or practice squad.Salmon saw his role with the Iron slowly increase as the season went on. He barely played in the first five weeks of the season, but in the final three, he was essentially a starter—and a brilliant one at that. In those three games, he picked up 11 tackles, one pass breakup, and PFF credited him with seven run stops. In Detroit, he could make a play for Jarrad Davis’ backup, and at just 23 years old (later this month), he still has room to grow. The biggest obstacle for Salmon is his steep developmental curve. Coming from Samford University, he’s got plenty of learning to do, but his flash of potential at the end of the AAF year may be enough for someone to give him a chance. WR Rashad Ross(UPDATE: Ross has signed with the Carolina Panthers)Ross is going to find an NFL team. It’s inevitable. The No. 2 all-time leading receiver in the AAF Austin Bryant Jersey 2019 , this wouldn’t be his first foray into the NFL. In fact, back in December of 2016, Ross had a stint on the Lions practice squad that lasted about a week. He’s been on seven other NFL teams since entering the league in 2013. Though he’s 29 years old, Ross proved to be a men among boys in the AAF. His value for the Lions isn’t just as receiver depth, though. Ross is also a proven kick returner, something the Lions roster is currently lacking. In 2015 with Washington, Ross returned 28 kickoffs for an average of 24.4 yards per return, including a 101-yard touchdown return. Ross would add crazy speed to a Lions receiving corps that doesn’t really have any. He reportedly ran a 4.36 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. He’s worth another shot. EDGE Damontre Moore The former 2013 third-round pick was a draft season favorite of mine, but he thoroughly busted in the NFL, with unsuccessful stints for the Giants, Dolphins, Seahawks and more. But he has absolutely thrived in the AAF: 9.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 18 quarterback hits according to PFF. It’s safe to say Moore was the biggest disrupting force of any AAF defense:(Hi, Alex Barrett!)Though not a perfect fit in the Lions defense Austin Bryant Jersey Mens , Moore could certainly provide some depth behind new addition Trey Flowers, and in a pinch could play on the other side at Devon Kennard’s edge position.QB Garrett GilbertThe AAF was filled with some shaky quarterback play, but the Orlando Apollo’s passer was the only one who stood out in a good way. Gilbert finished the AAF season completing 157 of 259 passes (60.6%) for 2152 yards (8.3 Y/A), 13 TDs and 3 INTs. The Lions need some help at the backup quarterback position, and Gilbert is a name they’re a little familiar with. He spent a couple months on the Patriots’ practice squad back in 2014 (while current Lions GM Bob Quinn was there) and after he was waived by the team in 2015, the Lions scooped him up. He ended up being cut by Detroit after training camp, but now that Gilbert has refined his game a little bit, it may be the right time for Detroit to bring him back. There’s an awful lot of smoke around the Lions’ 8th overall pick being up for sale."Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn hasn’t exactly been the wheeling-and-dealing type in the NFL Draft over his three years on the job. In his first ever draft, he didn’t make a single trade despite having ten picks in 2016. The next year, Quinn only made a single trade, moving down in the third round to pick up a fourth rounder. Last season, Quinn was at his busiest. He not only traded up in the second round, but he traded back into the fourth round using 2019 draft assets.Despite a relative sparse history of trading in the draft, expectations are high that the Lions will be active during draft weekend this year. With Quinn openly saying his team is open for business to move down in the first round, and rumors about dealing with the Atlanta Falcons still burning hot Womens Teez Tabor Jersey , USA Today lists the Lions as one of the top five teams most likely to trade their pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. And author Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz has an idea of how they may do it.“Finding a team antsy enough to leap ahead of the Broncos at No. 10 to grab a passer could be the key to Quinn’s vision materializing,” he wrote. With so much smokescreening going on at this time of year, it’s hard to imagine all of these rumors are true. However, there has been an awfully large amount of smoke around Detroit and their desire to trade down this year. Could all these rumors actually materialize on draft day? Tori Petry of has a nice recap of what Lions players were up to this offseason prior to reporting for offseason training on Monday. Speaking of offseason training, the Lions shared a photo album of players arriving for work on Monday. Some notable players in the photos were newly-added Justin Coleman, Trey Flowers, and Rashaan Melvin. There were no pictures of Matthew Stafford, and the team declined to comment on whether he attended (remember: his wife has a brain tumor and could be getting surgery this week.)In case you were wondering, the 2019 Snacks’ Snacks Madness tournament has crowned its champion. New Jersey's governor bet that the New Jersey Devils will win the Stanley Cup, while basketball legend Julius Erving bet that Philadelphia's football team will repeat as champions, placing the wagers Thursday, the day betting on professional sports became legal in the state. The action took place at Monmouth Park, a racetrack in Oceanport near the Jersey shore, and at the Borgata, Atlantic City's first casino to jump into the sports betting market since New Jersey won a Supreme Court case a month ago clearing the way for all 50 states to offer it should they choose. At the track, Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy placed $20 bets on Germany to win the World Cup soccer tournament, and his state's Devils to win hockey's Stanley Cup next season.Thirty minutes later and 70 miles to the south, Erving, better known to Philadelphia 76ers fans as "Dr. J.," put $5 on the Philadelphia Eagles to repeat as NFL champions. The Bengals’ path to sweeping the Ravens this season may be getting a little bit easier. Backup quarterback Lamar Jackson missed today’s practice with what’s being called a stomach issue per Adam Schefter. As a result Mark Walton Jersey White , third-string quarterback Robert Griffin III was the only quarterback to practice.Baltimore’s starting quarterback Joe Flacco was already not expected to play as he’s currently dealing with a hip injury, and Jackson was being prepped to start in his absence for the first time in his career. The Ravens have continued to say Flacco could start Sunday without practicing, however.Sidenote: “I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t play well” may be the best endorsement Flacco has ever gotten. The Ravens are considerably more healthier than the Bengals right now, but having both of their top quarterbacks battling injuries does not bode well for them at all and could tip the scale towards the Bengals if Griffin III has to play the entire game. The Bengals have some familiarity with Griffin as they were his opposition for his third start of his career six years ago when he was still the prized possession of the Washington Redskins. The Bengals beat Griffin’s team 38-31 all that time ago. A different Bengals team, and a much different Griffin will possibly take the field on Sunday.Griffin hasn’t started an NFL game since Week 5 of the 2016 season when he was the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. The Pittsburgh Steelers beat Griffin’s Browns in that game Womens Tyler Kroft Jersey , and Griffin hasn’t played a meaningful snap in the league since. The career arc for Griffin is a sad one, but the Bengals won’t play with any sympathy if he is forced to trot out there against them if Jackson can’t go. We’ll see if Jackson practices tomorrow and what his status for Sunday ends up being. As for the Bengals, Thursday’s injury report was mostly the same as Wednesday. The only real differences were Joe Mixon being limited with a knee injury, as well as Dre Kirkpatrick returning to practice while battling his concussion. Mixon’s injury is new, so it will be something to monitor closely on Friday. Kirkpatrick still needs to clear the league’s concussion protocol to play Sunday. The Bengals could be depleted at wide receiver Sunday Womens Clayton Fejedelem Jersey , as Josh Malone (hamstring) and A.J. Green (toe) continue to miss practice, while John Ross (groin) remains a limited participant. It looks like there’s a decent chance all three are out Sunday, which would leave the Bengals with Tyler Boyd, Alex Erickson, Cody Core and Auden Tate at wide receiver. Jeff Driskel A.J. Green Jersey , anyone? It looks like Darqueze Dennard and Vontaze Burfict are getting close to returning from their injuries, but since they haven’t gotten in a full practice yet, they might not play in Week 10 against the Ravens. The Bengals’ biggest practice of the week is on Thursday with Friday being more of a walkthrough. Hopefully they’ll be back by next week but there is some concern that Burfict’s injury is lingering.Bengals Injury ReportRavens Injury Report The Bengals were destroyed by the Chiefs on Sunday night, but quarterback Andy Dalton says his team needs to be careful not to overreact.Dalton noted that the 45-10 loss counts the same in the standings as any other loss, and he thinks the Bengals remain well-positioned in the AFC North.“It’s just one game. We’ve got another one next week Womens Geno Atkins Jersey ,” Dalton said. “As much as this one sucks, like I said, everything’s still right there. We’re in a great position. We’ve got to go take advantage of it.”It is, indeed, just one game. And if the playoffs started today Bobby Hart Jersey , the 4-3 Bengals would be in, as a wild card team, with tiebreaker edges over the 4-3 Ravens and Dolphins. But if the Bengals want to think of themselves as contenders, they need to be competitive with good teams. And the Bengals showed last night that they’re a long way behind the best team in the AFC.

The schedule is starting to leak!"NBC Sports Matt Maiocco reported that the 49ers will travel to Florida to open the 2019 regular season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Maiocco also reported that the 49ers will host the Pittsburgh Steelers for the teams home opener. That won’t happen until September 22nd Garry Gilliam Jersey , so the Niners will have start the season with two road games. We will know that team later today. The NFL will release the remainder of the 49ers schedule today at 5 p.m.There is some intrigue with playing Tampa Bay. The 49ers traveled to play the Bucs in November of last year. I can already see your blood boiling of having to travel across the country for the second consecutive year. Tampa Bay just hired Bruce Arians, so it’ll be tough to know exactly what that offense looks like. Robert Saleh and company will likely have to do some digging based on his past, and really put stock into what Tampa Bay shows in the preseason. In regards to Pittsburgh, they will be completely revamped as the Steelers no longer have their two best players on offense. We’ll update this article as more of the schedule leaks.UPDATE: Week 14 on the road against Drew Brees.UPDATE: Week 12, Aaron Rodgers is coming to Levi Stadium. It may sound like a cliche, but walking into the Senior Bowl media day you could feel the excitement in Mobile, Alabama surrounding the start of the first Senior Bowl practice. The day started with 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan stepping to the podium and the media wasted no time digging into Shanahan about his Senior Bowl plans. The theme of the day for Shanahan was “improvement,” he reiterated it again, and again. Shanahan said his goal is to make the players here better. “We just want to get them comfortable and put them in position to showcase their skills,” said Shanahan. The lore of Shanahan is already rubbing off on some of the prospects in Mobile. Louisiana State edge rusher C. J. Beathard Jersey , Jaylon Ferguson talked about the energy Shanahan brings, “he can light a room up,” said Ferguson. Other prospects like Old Dominion’s Oshane Ximines, and Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew both spoke about how Shanahan is already showing them how to be pro. Wide receiversMoving on from media day and to the practice field, one thing stuck out— there is no shortage of wide receiver talent on the field in Mobile. Going into Senior Bowl week there was already an idea that the 2019 receiving class was deep, and they did not disappoint on day one. At the Senior Bowl there’s a mix of twitchy underneath receivers paired with a few big bodied playmakers— good news for 49ers who could use a dose of both. West Virginia receiver Gary Jennings was a late add to the Senior Bowl roster, but looked like he belonged on day one. Jennings didn’t make any eye-popping plays, but he was continually consistent with every rep. He looked extremely smooth all over the field. He never had a defensive back glued to him, he created separation all day long with his route running ability. It was easy to spot how fast he got in and out his routes, which is something Shanahan preaches. Jennings’ teammate David Sills V also had a good day catching the football. Sills V just pops out as a 49ers-type player that Shanahan will fall in love with. A gritty wideout who catches everything and just seems to work really hard. South Carolina receiver Deebo Samuel showed why he’s considered one of the best players in Mobile in practice today. He’s a fluid route runner who has athleticism and versatility to play inside and out. Samuel is also extremely physical for his 6’0 size. Even in 7-on-7 and 1-on-1 drills where hitting is frowned upon Samuel’s physical presence was felt. The last receiver worth mentioning from the South roster is Clemson’s Hunter Renfrow. Yes Womens Alfred Morris Jersey , Renfrow is small, but he was quietly unguardable today. Renfrow uses footwork to create separation off the line of scrimmage and then it’s all over for the opposing defensive back. Renfrow was consistently open at the college level, but many questioned if that could translate to the next level, after one practice Renfrow is proving the doubters wrong. Similar to the Shanahan’s South group the North wide receivers balled out on day one of the Senior Bowl. UC Davis wideout and Alameda native, Keelan Doss answered a lot of questions about his game in the North practice. Davis has elite size, and is known as a big bodied jump ball receiver, but today his most impressive trait was his route running. He cut up Ladd-Peebles stadium with several dynamic routes. Texas defensive back Kris Boyd told me how impressed he was with the receiving group on the North side after practice. He said he had to go against Ohio State’s Terry McLaurin because he knew McLaurin’s speed would test Boyd. McLaurin, similar to several receivers in Mobile, impressed on day one. McLaurin caught an deep on a nine route in the first 1-on-1 session. It wouldn’t be a Senior Bowl recap without mentioning University of Massachusetts receiver Andy Isabella. Isabella’s electric speed was the talk of media day when Isabella mentioned he once ran a 4.26 hand-timed 40-yard dash. When it came time for Isabella to show his skills on the field he did not disappoint. What was most impressive was that Isabella didn’t do it with just speed. He showed his footwork skills to burst in-and-out of reps at several moment today. Isabella looks to be on track to be the next Tyreek Hill, Brandin Cooks type— an offensive weapon that would be scary for the NFL if Shanahan drafted him Offensive guardAnother offensive position the 49ers were heavily focused on is the offensive line. The line group was tasked with facing an Edge group that boasts several top-tier prospects like Ximinies Matt Breida Jersey , Ferguson and Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat. While the offensive line group doesn’t have a headlining players like the edge group, some linemen had good reps versus top competition. Oklahoma’s offensive guard Ben Powers was a wall in the interior 1-on-1 drills. He stuffed multiple defensive tackles at the line and showed good anchoring ability in the middle. Another interesting late add was Elon’s Oli Udoh. Udoh buried Ximinies on back-to-back reps on the outside. Udoh shined in the East-West Shrine game and is now parlaying a good performance at the Senior Bowl to elevate his draft stock sky-high.When Jon Gruden’s north roster hit the field, Washington’s offensive tackle, Kaleb McGary dominated the North’s edge group. He looked like one of the superior offensive linemen in Mobile on day one. 49ers GM John Lynch was spending time watching the edge-offensive line 1-v-1’s and McGary, Powers and Udoh might’ve played their way onto the 49ers radar. If you follow the Senior Bowl you’ll see several stories about the “losers” or “disappointments” of the first day of practice, but that’s not what the Senior Bowl is about— If you listened to anything Shanahan had to say in his opening presser this week is all about “Improvement.” Before stamping players as label of “loser” we have to see how they respond to the coaching the staffs here can provide.

Buffalo Bills rookie starter Josh Allen has been diagnosed with a sprained right elbow on his throwing arm and is not expected to play at Indianapolis this weekend, a person with direct knowledge told The Associated Press on Tuesday. The person described Allen's status as being week to week as opposed to being out indefinitely. Mercilus struck Allen's throwing arm just after the quarterback released the ball for a 39-yard completion to Kelvin Benjamin.Allen bent down and grabbed his arm in pain and stayed in for one more play 鈥?an incompletion to Zay Jones 鈥?before going down to one knee. Tuesday Cheese Curds: Can Reggie Gilbert cure the Packers’ pass rush woes? One of the biggest question marks surrounding the 2018 Green Bay Packers both before and after the NFL Draft was what they would do to address the need of a strong pass rush. Behind Clay Matthews and Nick Perry , there were not many options heading into organized team activities (OTAs) and training camp. However since camp began roughly a month ago, a third choice has begun to emerge and its a name only those who closely follow the team would know. That name is Reggie Gilbert.A 2016 undrafted free agent out of Arizona, Gilbert spent most of the past two seasons on the Packers’ practice squad. It was there he began to get coaches’ attention and has him now as a near lock to make the 53-man roster. It was unknown when or even if Gilbert would get his shot Womens Lane Taylor Jersey , but thanks to players like Vince Biegel struggling to stay healthy and then underperforming when they were Gilbert has taken full advantage of his chances this preseason. His big hit and forced fumble on Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph gave fans just a taste of what he could be capable of.Could the Packers have found a diamond in the rough two seasons ago? Remember when people wanted Jeff Janis over him? That was cute. Monday’s back-to-back press conferences from Packers CEO Mark Murphy/G.M. Brian Gutekunst and interim head coach Joe Philbin made two things clear: (1) Philbin is a candidate for the permanent coaching job; and (2) Philbin isn’t ready to talk about that.“It’s an opportunity to see Joe for four games,” Murphy told reporters. “See how the team responds. See how coaches and others respond.”In other words, see whether Philbin can be the guy.Philbin Geronimo Allison Jersey , who himself was fired midseason by Miami in 2015 and who became visibly emotional on multiple occasions during his Monday press conference, avoided discussing whether he wants the job beyond this year, explaining that he’s doing what he has urged the players to do — focus on this week’s game Kevin King Jersey White , against the Falcons.A football coach who served as the head coach of an NFL team likely won’t say no to the chance to be a head coach again. But it seemed to be important to Philbin (and rightfully so) to be guarded in his ambition, given that he’s replacing a close friend.“You want to be part of the solution,” Philbin said regarding his return to Green Bay to work with McCarthy. “You feel like you let him down.”If Philbin picks the team up and runs the table , he could get an opportunity to stick around. Much of that depends on the overall wish list for the hire, and whether any names in front of Philbin accept or decline.

Once again , we’ll get a peek into the Lions’ war room."If you’re like me, the NFL Draft room is one of the most intriguing places to be during the entire football year. What goes on behind those closed doors is a mystery to most, but access would provide fans with unparalleled information for the moments in which critical football decisions are made. The closest we ever get seeing what goes on in those rooms is when NFL Network cuts into the brief moments of each team’s draft room moments after they’ve made their pick or, occasionally, while they’re still on the clock. No audio, no view of their draft board. Just pure unbridled joy from everyone in the room who is sure they just made the right decision. It’s not much, but it is something. And this year Womens Golden Tate III Jersey , Detroit Lions fans will be treated to that small glimpse once again. The NFL announced on Thursday that they will have cameras in 23 different franchise’s war room, including the Lions. If you need a reminder as to what that may look like, last year we got to see an elated room after they surprisingly took safety Tracy Walker in the third round.Who will have the Lions draft room aggressive high-fiving this year? CHICAGO (AP) — Mitchell Trubisky locked in right from the start, whether he was firing downfield or making the right read underneath the defense. It added up to one of his best performances as a pro, not to mention a rare win for Chicago against Detroit and an NFC North rival.Trubisky threw for a career-high 355 yards and three touchdowns, and the first-place Bears beat the Lions 34-22 to snap a 10-game losing streak against division opponents on Sunday. The Bears (6-3) had dropped nine of 10 against Detroit (3-6) and were seeking their first victory over a division opponent since Oct. 31, 2016 Damon Harrison Jersey , against Minnesota.Chicago jumped out to a 26-7 halftime lead with Trubisky and Allen Robinson leading the way. And the Bears surpassed their win total from last year with their third straight victory ."We were just out there having fun today," Trubisky said. "Everyone was doing their job. We just went out there and played. And the plays made themselves because we were just going out there not thinking, just translating the work from practice on gameday."Though he threw for six touchdowns against Tampa Bay earlier this season, Trubisky had one of his best games since the Bears took him with the No. 2 pick in the 2017 draft. He completed 23 of 30 passes and finished with a 148.6 rating. He also ran for a 4-yard touchdown."He's playing his tail off right now," coach Matt Nagy said. "I love where he's at."Allen Robinson caught six passes for 133 yards and two TDs after missing two games with a groin injury.Rookie Anthony Miller added a career-high 122 yards on five receptions, including a 45-yard TD and a 55-yard catch.Khalil Mack had two of Chicago's six sacks against Matthew Stafford — both in the second half after missing back-to-back games with an injured right ankle.Bryce Callahan had a sack and an interception.About the only downer for the Bears was Cody Parkey hitting uprights while missing two extra points and two field goals.Things were so bad for him that fans cheered sarcastically when he made an extra point late in the first half and let out a loud roar when the Bears went for a 2-point conversion after a touchdown by Robinson in the third."Of course (coaches are) frustrated with me but who's more frustrated than myself?" Parkey said. "This is my job, this is what I'm supposed to do and I'm missing out there. So I mean I've just got to trust in what I'm doing."Parkey's misses didn't stop the Bears from opening a three-game stretch against division opponents on a winning note.Detroit dropped its third in a row after back-to-back victories.Stafford was consistently under pressure again after getting sacked 10 times against Minnesota the previous week. He was 25 of 42 for 274 yards White Austin Bryant Jersey , two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions."We're fighting, nobody can say we're not fighting until the very end," said running back Kerryon Johnson, who scored from the 1 near the end of the first half."Problem is we start off slow and then the fight at the end doesn't matter. We just have to come out, and get better at the beginning. Keep on doing what we're doing at the end and put it all together."STRONG STARTTrubisky had a 158.3 rating at halftime after going 14 of 16 for 209 yards and two touchdowns with the Bears predominantly in a no-huddle offense.Coming off a 41-9 romp at Buffalo, Chicago scored on its first four possessions to grab a 26-0 lead. Robinson set up Tarik Cohen's 3-yard touchdown on the game's opening drive when he turned a slant into a 35-yard gain, breaking a tackle by DeShawn Shead on a 35-yard slant. Parkey hit the right upright on the extra-point attempt. But the Bears kept rolling from there.KICKED OUTNagy insisted he still trusts Parkey and the Bears won't look to bring in another kicker."There's zero chance of that happening ," he said.Nagy also dismissed the idea of having Parkey practice at Soldier Field during the week, saying "it's pretty windy up at Halas Hall" in suburban Lake Forest, where the team is headquartered.INJURIESLions: TE Michael Roberts suffered a shoulder injury when he was tackled making a 9-yard catch early in the fourth quarter. … WR Marvin Jones Jr. hurt a knee.UP NEXTLions: Host Carolina on Nov. 18.Bears: Host Minnesota on Nov. 18.

Andrew Luck traipses across the locker room with a little extra pep in his step these days. It's obvious from the smile that the Indianapolis Colts' starting quarterback is content to put on his shoulder pads Renell Wren Cincinnati Bengals Jersey , prepare for practice and get ready to make his first regular-season start in more than 20 months.Sure, there were times Luck questioned when or even if this day would come, whether he could regain the Pro Bowl form from his first three pro seasons after shoulder surgery and whether those regular pregame jitters he craves would again be part of his game-day routine. Now, just a few days away from facing Cincinnati's defense, Luck looks and sounds like the confident leader everyone expects him to be this season."I think everybody knows how great a quarterback he is. He's been out for a little while so I think they're probably waiting to see if he's back, healthy, ready to go," kicker Adam Vinatieri said. "Everything that we've seen this offseason through minicamp, training camp tells me he's ready to rock and roll and be the Andrew we all know he can be."Luck understands just how heavily scrutinized these first few games will be.He anticipates a litany of questions about his health, the subtle changes he's made to his throwing motion after working out with former major league pitcher Tom House, his ability to bounce up after big hits and whether using the sidelines and baseball slides will change his approach to the game. After all Renell Wren Jersey Womens , it was the hit he took from behind in the third preseason game that caused a minor foot injury that forced him out of two practices last week. But the fact he is talking about his foot rather than lingering pain in his right shoulder certainly is a sign of progress."Certainly not as smooth (a recovery) as you'd like," he said Wednesday, referring to his recovery from the surgery on a partially torn labrum in January 2017. "There have been hiccups and there have been challenges and hurdles to go over and frustrating times, and as a team, too. But I feel like we've always managed to find a way through it."The darkest moments appeared to come after Luck shut down his throwing regimen and went on injured reserve last fall.He spent several weeks seeking additional opinions to determine whether a second procedure was necessary. Once assured nothing was structurally wrong, Luck headed to the Netherlands in November where he worked for more than a month working with a trusted trainer in relative anonymity. When he returned to the team complex in late December, Luck was clearly a frustrated man."There was a time, probably a couple weeks into being away from here, in early December that was pretty difficult for me to sort of see the positive in things," he said on Dec. 29. "You get a little emotionally tired. I am, I think Cheap Renell Wren Jersey , a little emotionally tired from the whole process. But that's all right."Teammates understood."It's a lonely feeling in this league when you get hurt and you can't be out there with your teammates, for your coaches, for your fans," tight end Jack Doyle said. "So when I think he got back around us and practicing and just playing football again, you really saw him come back to normal, I guess."It took more than five months to see actual results.Luck resumed throwing footballs in May, a secret he kept by swearing first-year coach Frank Reich to silence. Then, on the second day of Indy's three-day minicamp Luck made a surprise return and began flinging footballs around the practice field for the first time since October.Suddenly, the conversations changed throughout the city.Reich and general manager Chris Ballard outlined a training camp plan that called for Luck to mimic his regular-season routine by throwing three times per week in non-game settings.Luck's brief appearance in the preseason opener at Seattle eased most doubts about whether he'd start the season opener. His ability to survive big hits in each of the first three preseason games proved to fans, coaches and critics he was healthy. And if any additional assurances were needed, teammates found them in Luck's demeanor on and off the field."Seeing him finally come out in camp and just have that confidence back Color Rush Renell Wren Jersey , it really is a lot of fun," center Ryan Kelly said. "Being able to laugh and joke around, I'm sure a year ago even if he had been playing he didn't have that in him. So it's kind of like a reset button for him and it's fun."Now Luck must deal with yet another test.He faces a Bengals defense that includes sacks artists such as Geno Atkins, Michael Johnson, Carlos Dunlap and Carl Lawson with the possibility of playing behind two new tackles.Longtime left tackle Anthony Castonzo did limited work in practice Wednesday and his status for Sunday's game remains unclear. Reich said he's decided on a starter at right tackle, but won't make an announcement till Sunday.Still, Luck isn't fretting. He knows he's endured tougher predicaments and experienced more mentally challenging moments over the past 20 months while rediscovering his passion for the game. And he can't wait for the moment, Saturday night or Sunday morning, when his stomach tightens and those nerves start firing."I think those butterflies will always be there," he said with a smile. "It's a special feeling and I've missed that feeling." CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals knew drastic changes were in order after they finished last in the league in offense and Andy Dalton suffered through his worst season since he was a rookie. They changed the playbook, bolstered the offensive line and decided to set Dalton loose. One month into the season Renell Wren Jersey 2019 , he's back in a comfort zone and producing as well as ever. Dalton's resurgence has been the most notable aspect to Cincinnati's 3-1 start. He was nearly perfect in the first half of a 37-36 win at Atlanta on Sunday, missing only two passes while throwing for 211 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also led a winning 16-play drive, connecting with A.J. Green on a 13-yard touchdown with 7 seconds left.Dalton has thrown for 11 touchdowns in his first four games, the best opening stretch of his eight-year career. He also has more completions and attempts than in any previous four-game start as coordinator Bill Lazor puts the onus him to lead a reconfigured offense still learning nuances of the playbook."We work really hard to be consistent … and to be clear with what we want," Lazor said. "I think that's the part that right now is starting to click and hopefully we can get even better at it."It would be difficult to be better than Dalton was in the first half Sunday . He completed 14 of 16 passes and had a passer rating of 158.3, the highest possible. The Bengals ran 24 plays and scored 28 points, averaging 9.9 yards per play.On the winning drive, Dalton completed passes on third-and-6, fourth-and-8 and fourth-and-6 before hitting Green for the touchdown."He pulled us out of a heck of a situation," cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick said. The Bengals had losing records the past two seasons because they were unable to pull out games at the end. The winning drive marked a notable step forward."We didn't flinch," Dalton said. "We just kept going. That's what you need to be a really good team and to be a good offense."Dalton is known for getting into a rhythm and getting rid of the ball quickly in Cincinnati's West Coast offense. He never got into a rhythm last season because he rarely had time to set and throw. The offensive line was so inconsistent that there was little running game , either, leaving Dalton as a target. He was sacked 13 times in the first four games of 2016 and 14 times over the same span last year. He's been dropped only seven times this season despite throwing more often.Overall, Dalton is off to his best four-game start since 2015, when the Bengals won the AFC North and Dalton finished with a passer rating of 106.3 that led the conference. He's been overshadowed by the performances of other quarterbacks off to fast starts, which is how Lazor and Dalton like it."I'd rather people not talk about us," Lazor said. "We were doing just fine. Nobody talked about us all offseason, all training camp. We're fine. We'll just be quiet and just do our thing."BURFICT'S WEEK: Linebacker Vontaze Burfict is expected back at practice Wednesday after completing his latest suspension — four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancers. The Bengals have a one-week roster exemption, but are expected to activate him for a game Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium against the Dolphins (3-1). He's played a significant number of plays in his first games back after injury and suspensions the past three years.

We’ve got to find a way to get paid off for it too.”Defenseman Ben Lovejoy, acquired from New Jersey on Saturday, also played his first game with Dallas. The Stars capitalized on a pair of Blackhawks breakdowns to take a 2-0 lead in the first period.Set up by Zuccarello’s long pass from the Dallas zone, Faksa got past Gustafsson, broke in alone and beat Ward between the pads 11:35 in to open the scoring. Gustafsson found himself alone in the Chicago zone after the blade on defense partner Slater Koekkoek’s skate fell out.Radulov , alone in front of the net, made it 2-0 on a backhander with 2:32 left in the period.
